The American writer Paul Auster, author of among other works, The New York Trilogy, has after eight years published another, spectacular read: 4 3 2 1. He is our guest on 20th March.
Interviewer: Ernest van der Kwast.
Born two weeks too early on 3rd March 1947, Archibald Isaac Ferguson was the only child of Rose and Stanley Ferguson. He would later simultaneously pursue four different paths in his life, four different Archibalds made of the same DNA who would live four parallel but completely different lives. Each course would take a different direction, loves and friendships and intellectual interests would contrast with each other. A boy grows up, again and again. Each Archibald would fall in love with Amy Schneiderman, but their relationships would all be different. Readers will celebrate Archibald’s successes and empathise with the tragedies that overcome him.
