Aida is an opera in four acts and a mature work of Giuseppe Verdi. It premiered on 24 December 1871 at the Cairo Opera House. The composer wrote the request of kediv Isma'il Pasha of Egypt, one of the leaders of Egypt, who had inaugurated the modern opera house in 1869, in the opening of the Suez Canal, with Rigoletto. Therefore, in this opera there will, very typical of the nineteenth century, making a great show next to the French grand opéra, with scenes full of pomp and splendor and a great display orchestral and choral evoking the magnificence of ancient Egypt. But Aida is much more, is a lyrical and intimate opera.
