Basic Photography Course-Spring 2018

  • Join us for the new course starting on March 21st. This time we'll be visiting the Zaanse Schans and its picturesque windmills (https://www.dezaanseschans.nl).

In only 6 sessions (5 in the studio and 1 field trip), we'll teach you how to master your camera and learn the fundamentals of the photographic elements:

    Aperture
    Shutter Speed
    ISO
    Light and Exposure
    Focus Control
    White Balance
    Rule of Thirds
    Composition and Vantage Point
    Movement (freezing and blurring)
Retouching ( an introduction to Photoshop and Lightroom)
The Basic Photography course consists of 5 two-hour classroom/studio sessions and one field trip to the Zaanse Schans. The two hour class begins with an introduction (visual presentation) on the topic of the day, followed by a detailed explanation. After that you get to put into practice what you’ve just learned through a series of hands-on exercises. After every class you get all the materials e-mailed to you, together with the assignments for the following class (homework). Ideally you are able to spend between 2- 4 hours every week working on the assignments (self study). The small class sizes (max 6) guarantees everyone will get the attention he/she needs. Classes are designed to be effective and fun, suggesting a variety of assignments in which you can apply everything you learn.
